The DIY mistakes that skip the apex without you realizing
Nobody sets out to build a flat nail. It happens through a handful of small, easy-to-miss habits, and most self-taught appliers repeat all of them without knowing the apex exists.
Filing evenly across the whole nail is the biggest one. It feels thorough and produces a smooth, glossy finish, but even filing removes the curve just as readily as it removes excess product, so a nail that had a decent apex can get filed flat by the end of the session.
